For 1100 years, pilgrims have taken up staff, gourd and cockleshell for the journey to Santiago de Compostela. Now you can follow in their sandaled footsteps, to one of the last great places. Tour features exceptional accommodation in historic hotels, paradors, palaces, and convents. Meals feature fine regional cuisine and select Spanish wines.

MADRID • SIGÜENZA
Pick up at Madrid airport; El Cid's Spain; the plains of Castile. Overnight: Parador Sigüenza D
The Province of Navarre-a patchwork of cornfields, pastures, vineyards; Gregorian chant in an ancient monastery; 100-mile Pyrenean views; Hemingway's Pamplona, the Pilgrim's Way. Overnight: Parador Olite B L/D
Arches and pillars, wineries and vineyards; Estella's Romanesque treasures; Irache's wine on tap; Haro, wine capital of La Rioja; Santo Domingo's famous cockerel. Overnight: Posada Migueloga B L/D
