In Spain, where fiestas are a way of life, San Fermín is known as the Fiesta. Pamplona explodes—the first fireworks followed by a barrage of music, dancing, games artistic performances, eating, drinking…and bullfighting: a 24 hour Fiesta. This package is available for your own group of friends & family, min. 4 persons. It offers a fully escorted private tour of the fiesta. Leave the planning to us.

Pickup at the airport / train station for transfer to your city hotel. Meet your English speaking guide/escort, who will take you on a walking tour of Pamplona, along the route of the encierro/running of the bulls--from the Cathedral to the Bullring and through the Three Medieval Boroughs to the ancient walls of the city. Over a welcome dinner in a Basque cider house you’ll learn about the history of San Fermín. Overnight: 4 star central hotel D
Day 2
The Noon gathering on a private balcony overlooking the City Hall Square for the chupinazo begins the Fiesta; toast with a glass of Cava! Following the opening festivities, adjourn for lunch in an old taberna. Late afternoon transfer to the countryside of Navarra and the historic medieval walled village of Olite, former capital of the Kings of Navarra, for a walking tour, followed by dinner in the vineyards. Day 3
Early morning gathering on a private balcony for the first encierro. Enjoy a San Fermín breakfast at Bosquecillo before departing for San Jean de Luz, a charming border town and fishing village; enjoy a walking tour before continuing to San Sebastián, the Pearl on the Bay of Biscay. The city is known for its fine beaches and water sports, superb dining and shopping. Relax on the beach or explore the city’s elegant shops before an early evening tapeo— a chance to sample San Sebastián’s justifiably famous tapas & vinos in the atmospheric old quarter. You’ll arrive back in Pamplona to see the dramatic Toro del Fuego. Overnight: as above B D
Day 4
Early morning gathering on a private balcony above the narrow medieval streets for the second encierro. Afterwards sit down to a breakfast in the Casino with the baile de alpargata, a folklore tradition during San Fermín. Following breakfast, you’ll depart for the Pyrenees, along the Camino de Santiago, the 1000 year old pilgrimage route. This rich cultural route offers soft adventure options—walking, swimming—together with a chance to see some of the great monuments of this corner of Iberia, including treasures of Romanesque/ Gothic architecture: Sangüesa’s Santa María Church; St. Francis Xavier’s family castle; and the remarkable monastery at Leyre. Light lunch en route. Back in Pamplona, sit down to dinner where you’ll toast farewell to the fiesta with a copa of pacharán at the end of the meal, before the city explodes in fireworks at the Parque Ciudad.
